The Impact of Psychological Counseling and Counseling on First-Time Blood Donors With Psychological Disorders
Objective To explore the impact of psychological counseling and counseling on first-time blood donors with psychological disorders.Methods A total of 278 first-time blood donors with psychological disorders who were received by the Qingdao Blood Center from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects.The test group(141 blood donors from January to June 2023)and the control group(137 blood donors from July to December 2022)were selected based on different blood donation times.The test group learned about the actual psychological disorders of blood donors through psychological counseling,and provided psychological counseling based on this.The control group was given routine education to blood donors.The completion rate of first blood donation,blood donation volume,and incidence of adverse reactions related to blood donation in two groups were calculated.For completed blood donors,the comfort level of blood donation was evaluated using the comfort status questionnaire(GCQ)were calculated.Additionally,a self-designed survey questionnaire was designed to investigate the satisfaction of blood donation services and willingness to donate again in both groups of blood donors.Results The completion rate of the first blood donation in the test group(94.33%)was higher than that in the control group(85.40%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were 63(48.23%)first-time blood donors of 300 mL and 38(27.66%)first-time blood donors of 400 mL(27.66%)in the test group,both of which were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The test group had significantly higher GCQ scores in terms of physiological,psychological,and socio-cultural dimensions,as well as the total score of the scale,compared to the control group(P<0.05).The attitude,initiative,timeliness,professionalism,and overall service quality satisfaction of the test group's blood donors towards blood donation services were higher than those of the control group.The individual willingness to donate blood again and the willingness to mobilize relatives and friends to donate blood were higher than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Psychological counseling and counseling can help improve the psychological disorders of first-time blood donors,increase the first-time blood donation rate and volume,enhance the comfort of blood donation and satisfaction with blood donation services,and have a positive effect on preventing adverse reactions related to blood donation,increasing the willingness of blood donors to donate again,and mobilizing others to donate.
