Application of Continuous Quality Improvement in Reducing Drug Delivery Errors
Objective To explore the application effect of continuous quality improvement in reducing the error rate of drug use. Methods Established a quality control team for drug management in the nursing department, used the network information reporting system platform for full process quality monitoring, summarized problems through the Plan-Do-Check-Act(PDCA)method,and developed improvement measures. The changes in medication usage errors before(from January to June 2022)and after(from July to December 2022)continuous quality improvement were compared. Results The incidence of drug administration error after improvement was 0.03‰,lower than 0.08‰ before improvement(P<0.05).The implementation rate and pass rate of personal digital assistant(PDA)after improvement were higher than those before improvement, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Establish a dedicated quality continuous improvement team, dynamically analyze the reasons, propose and implement improvement measures, and effectively reduce the incidence of medication errors.
