Effects of Manual Milking Combined With Electric Breast Pump on Premature Pregnant With Maternal Separation
Objective To investigate the effect of manual milking combined with electric breast pump on lactation yield and breast distending pain of premature pregnant with maternal separation. Methods A total of 100 separated preterm mothers and infants from the department of obstetrics,Women and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University/Xiamen Women's and Children's Health Care Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected and divided into control group and combination group with 50 cases in each group using random number table method. The control group was milked by hand, and the combined group was combined with an electric breast pump for 3 consecutive days. The lactation volume, breast swelling, breast pain score,self-efficacy and maternal satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the milk yield in the observation group[(165.28±12.70)mL vs.(132.69±10.44)mL]was greater than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the breast swelling in the observation group was less severe than that in the control group(P<0.05).The maternal breast pain score[(1.02±0.17)points vs.(2.15±0.36)points]in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the maternal self-efficacy score[(114.36±10.60)points vs.(95.70±8.27)points]in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Maternal satisfaction in observation group(96.00%vs.80.00%)was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The manual milking combined with electric breast pump could significantly increase lactation yield of premature pregnant with maternal separation, relieve breast distending pain, improve maternal self-efficacy,and increase maternal satisfaction.
