The Self Pity Level and Influencing Factors of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Patients After Conformal Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy
Objective To explore and explore the self pity level and influencing factors of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy. Methods A total of 110 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients who underwent conformal intensity modulated radiation therapy in Quanzhou First Hospital,Fujian Province from January 2019 to January 2022 were selected as the research subjects. After conformal intensity modulated radiation therapy, the self pity level of the patients was evaluated using the self compassion scale(SCS).The general information of all subjects and the total SCS scores of patients with different characteristics were analyzed and compared. The Spearman correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between the results of univariate analysis and the total SCS scores, logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relevant factors affecting the total SCS score of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy. Results Nasopharyngeal cancer patients with education level of high school or below had significantly lower total SCS scores after conformal intensity modulated radiation therapy compared to patients with college or above. The total SCS scores of patients with≤3 types of toxic side effects were significantly higher than those with>3 types. The total SCS scores of farmers were significantly lower than those of employees and others, and those with a per capita monthly income of<3 000 yuan were significantly lower than those with a per capita monthly income of≥3 000 yuan, with significant differences(P<0.05).The total score of SCS in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy was(78.16±5.25)points,which was at a moderate level, with high scores for self-friendliness and self-criticism,and generally low scores for human nature and mindfulness;According to Spearman correlation analysis, the patient's education level, number of toxic side effects, occupation, and per capita monthly income of the family are positively correlated with the total score of SCS(r=0.346,0.587,0.613,0.544,P=0.008,0.003,<0.001,0.002).Multiple factor logistic regression analysis showed that education level, number of toxic side effects, occupation, and per capita monthly income of families were the influencing factors for the total SCS score of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)(P<0.05).Conclusion The self pity level of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients after conformal intensity modulated radiation therapy is at a moderate level, which is closely related to education level, number of toxic side effects, occupation, and per capita monthly income of the family.Clinical interventions can be targeted based on the above factors to improve the self pity level of patients.
