Research and Development of Virtual Reality Technology in the Field of Stroke
Objective To review the development of virtual reality(VR)technology in stroke rehabilitation, identify research hotspots, explore the potential for development in this field, and provide evidence and guidance for researchers and clinical practitioners. Methods The study searched the Web of Science database core collection from the establishment of the database to November 2022 to obtain relevant literature on VR technology in stroke rehabilitation.Using CiteSpace software version R6.1.R6,we analyzed the external characteristics of publications in this field, including the national/regional distribution of authors and institutions, fund support,as well as co-cited literature, and keyword changes. Results The research found that the number of published articles and citation frequency have increased year by year. The research hotspot in the past 5 years had been VR combined with robot-assisted stroke motor rehabilitation, but there was insufficient evidence of its effectiveness in non-motor rehabilitation. Conclusion The research on VR technology in stroke motor rehabilitation has been increasing yearlly and continues to this day.Future clinical promotion of VR technology needs to further expand the application scenarios to meet patients'functional rehabilitation needs in various aspects.
