Study on Oral Health Management and Preventive Measures for Outpatients in Stomatology Department
Objective To explore the effect of oral health management on the oral health of the outpatient patients.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 160 patients with chronic gingivitis admitted to the department of stomatology,Longyan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2022 to March 2023,and they were divided into intervention group and control group according to different nursing methods,with 80 cases in each group.The control group received routine oral care,and the intervention group received health education based on the control group.The oral health behavior and oral health status of the two groups were investigated.Results In the intervention group,the proportion of brushing yesterday was 95.0%,the number of brushing daily was(2.5±0.6)times,and the proportion of using oral protection products was 80.0%,which was higher than that of the control group[80.0%,(1.8±0.7)times,60.0%](P<0.05).The cases of gingival bleeding,gingival swelling and gingival hyperplasia in the intervention group were less than those in the control group,the number of functional teeth was higher than that in the control group,and the score of tongue coating index was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Health education is a useful program for oral health management of outpatients in stomatology department,which can effectively improve chronic gingivitis diseases such as gingival bleeding,gingival swelling and gingival hyperplasia.The results of this study provide references for the formulation of oral health management standards in the later period.
