Comparison of the Efficacy and Safety of Propofol and Propofol During Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy
Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of ciprofol versus propofol for patients undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Methods A total of 92 patients undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy at Liaocheng People's Hospital,Shandong Province from March to June 2023 were equally divided into the ciprofol group and propofol group. The primary outcome was the successful rate of fiberoptic bronchoscopy.Secondary outcomes included demographic characteristics, time metrics, hemodynamics, coughing severity, intubating conditions, lowest oxygen saturation, satisfaction scores of both patients and the endoscopist, patients' willing to repeat fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and occurrence of adverse events. Results There was no statistically significant difference in time indicators between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the propofol group, the willingness to repeat fiberoptic bronchoscopy, hemodynamics, lowest oxygen saturation, and satisfaction of patients and endoscopists were significantly improved in the ciprofol group(P<0.05).The success rate of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in the propofol group was 91.30%(42/46,95%CI 82.80%to 99.80%),while the success rate of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in the propofol group was 89.13%(41/46,95%CI 79.80%to 98.50%).The difference in successful completion rates between the two groups of fiberoptic bronchoscopy examinations is 2.17%(95%CI:1.30%to 3.00%).Therefore,among patients undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy, the group treated with propofol was considered not inferior to the group treated with propofol(χ2=0.123,P>0.05).Conclusion Ciprofol was non-inferior to propofol with regard to successful sedation for flexible bronchoscopy. At the same time, patients' willingness to repeat flexible bronchoscopy and the satisfactions were all significantly improved.
