Application Analysis of High-Quality Blood Donation Services in Recruitment and Blood Collection for Unpaid Blood Donation
Objective To explore the application effect of high-quality blood donation services in the recruitment and blood collection of unpaid blood donors. Methods A total of 600 blood donors who donated whole blood without compensation at a blood donation point in Qingdao Blood Center from February 2021 to November 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into test group(303 blood donors from July to November 2022)and a control group(297 blood donors from February to June 2022)based on different enrollment times. The control group received routine blood donation services, while the test group received high-quality blood donation services based on the first cause effect. The incidence and severity of adverse reactions in two groups of blood donors were compared and observed, and use a self-made questionnaire to investigate the satisfaction of the two groups of blood donors with this blood donation service and their willingness to donate again. The secondary blood donation rates of the two groups were calculated. Results The adverse reaction rate of blood donation in the experimental group(0.99%)was lower than that in the control group(5.05%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The main adverse reactions of blood donation in the two groups were systemic manifestations, both of which were transient symptoms, and no severe adverse reactions of blood donation occurred. The satisfaction of blood donors in the test group with the waiting environment before blood donation, the donating environment during blood donation, the resting environment after blood donation, health consultation, physical examination, blood collection care, blood donation response processing, waiting time, notification of blood donation content, service attitude, promotion methods, and diet/souvenirs was higher than that in the control group. The personal willingness to donate again and mobilize relatives and friends to donate blood among blood donors was also higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The secondary blood donation rate in the experimental group(34.32%)was higher than that in the control group(21.89%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of high-quality blood donation services based on the first cause effect in the recruitment and collection of unpaid blood donations can effectively prevent and reduce adverse reactions of blood donors, improve their satisfaction with blood donation services, and enhance their willingness to donate again and the rate of secondary blood donation.
