The Value of Blood Routine and Other Factors Detection in the Differential Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases in Children
Objective To explore the value of blood routine combined with C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin detection in the differential diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis and suppurative tonsillitis in children. Methods A total of 51 cases of infectious mononucleosis children in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine/Foshan Nanhai District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine treated from April 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the control group, and 62 cases of suppurative tonsillitis children in the same period were selected as the study group.Laboratory indicators were detected. The blood routine indexes, clinical manifestations, procalcitonin levels and CRP levels of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in leukocyte count between the two groups(P>0.05).The levels of neutrophil count and platelet count in the study group were(9.31±5.04),(290.27±95.22)×109/L,respectively,which were higher than those in the control group(3.29±1.40),(221.59±70.33)×109/L(P<0.05).The incidence of lymph node enlargement in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of procalcitonin and CRP in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In the differential diagnosis of suppurative tonsillitis and infectious mononucleosis, the combined application of procalcitonin, blood routine and CRP is ideal, which is conducive to the improvement of the diagnosis rate.
