The Construction and Practice of Self-Service Pharmacy in Fever Outpatient Department
Objective To explore the construction and optimization practice of self-service pharmacy in fever clinic of the Second People's Hospital of Shantou.Methods A total of 4 000 fever outpatient department of the Second People's Hospital of Shantou from January to December 2020 were randomly selected to be included in the control group,and 4 000 fever outpatient prescriptions after the application of automated pharmacy module from January to December 2022 were randomly selected to be included in the observation group.The successful drug delivery and the reasons for failure were compared between the two groups.Results The average number of patients on duty in fever outpatient pharmacy in observation group was less than that in control group,the average daily times of supplement was less than that in control group,and the time of drug dispensing was shorter,with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the rate of one-time successful drug withdrawal between 2 groups(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the proportion of drug failure cases between the two groups due to personnel management,system hardware,information software,and the drug itself(P>0.05).The cases of medication failure in the observation group were mainly due to system hardware(50.00%)and information software(50.00%)factors,while the cases of medication failure in the control group were mainly due to personnel management(66.67%)and medication itself(33.33%)factors.Conclusion Self service machines have played an important role in the pharmaceutical services of fever clinics.The establishment of self service pharmacies in fever clinics can effectively shorten the time required for patients to take medication and reduce pharmaceutical labor costs.This study provides a basis for the introduction of self-service medication dispensing equipment in fever clinics of medical institutions,and the self-service medication dispensing model can also be applied to certain specialized clinics and internet clinics for medication retrieval.The research results of this article provide reference content for the later development of standards for the construction of self-service pharmacies in fever clinics.
