Analysis of Influencing Factors of Waiting Time of Outpatients in Grade A Tertiary Hospital in Anhui Province
Objective This paper analyzes the influencing factors of waiting time of outpatient patients in grade A tertiary hospital in Anhui province,and puts forward improving strategies to improve patients'medical experience.Methods The outpatient consultation data for June 2023 were retrieved from the hospital information system,and conduct a questionnaire survey on 405 outpatient patients who visited that month.The influencing factors were analyzed using univariate and multivariate statistical methods.Results The average waiting time of patients aged 14 and below was the longest 15.2(5.1,39.5)min.The average waiting time of registered patients was 9.2(3.9,19.5)min,which was shorter than that of non-registered patients 13.1(3.8,34.3)min.The average waiting time of ordinary patients was 9.5(2.8,25.1)min,which was shorter than that of expert patients 13.7(4.6,35.4)min.The average waiting time of morning patients was 10.1(3.3,26.7)min,which was shorter than that of afternoon patients 15.7(5.0,37.1)min(P<0.001).Multiple linear regression showed that age,medical treatment method,medical treatment type,medical treatment time and doctor's half-day number of visits had statistically significant differences on waiting time(P<0.05).Conclusion By analyzing the main factors influencing waiting time,it is suggested that the hospital management department strengthen communication between medical staff and patients to ensure patients'consultation time.It is also recommended to change patients'consultation habits and continuously improve the accuracy of appointment scheduling during different time periods to reduce outpatient waiting time.
