Application of PDCA Cycle Management Model in Hospital Infection Prevention and Control
Objective To analyze the application effect of the Plan-Do-Check-Act(PDCA)cycle management model in hospital infection prevention and control. Methods A total of 430 hospitalized patients admitted to Ji'nan Zhangqiu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into two groups based on the intervention time,214 patients from July 2021 to June 2022 as the control group, and 216 patients from July 2022 to June 2023 as the study group. The control group adopted the routine prevention and control measures to prevent nosocomial infection,on the basis of which the study group adopted the PDCA cycle management mode to prevent and control nosocomial infection. The implementation of hand hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and aseptic techniques between two groups,as well as the incidence of hospital infections were compared. Results The total incidence of nosocomial infection in the study group was 2.31%,which was lower than 9.35%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The implementation rates of hand hygiene, environmental hygiene and aseptic techniques in the study group were 98.33%,97.50%and 91.67%,respectively,higher than 81.67%,79.17%and 85.00%in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The PDCA cycle management model can improve the quality of hospital infection prevention and control, and reduce the incidence of hospital infections.
