Study on Personality Characteristics,Quality of Life and Their Correlation in Children With Functional Abdominal Pain
Objective To analyze the correlation between functional abdominal pain and personality characteristics,quality of life and family rearing style in order to provide theoretical basis for clinical nursing intervention.Methods A total of 165 children with functional abdominal pain admitted to Fujian Children's Hospital from March 2021 to April 2022(observation group)and 165 healthy children who underwent physical examination in the department of child health care(control group)were included in the study.The Eysenck personality questionnaire(EPQ)and the pediatric quality of life inventorytm(PedsQLTM)were adopted 4.0),egna minnen av barndoms uppfostran(EMBU)and Wong-Baker visual simulated abdominal pain scoring method to investigate the status of functional abdominal pain children and their personality characteristics,quality of life and family parenting style,and explore its influencing factors.Results The abdominal pain score in the observation group was(13.95±2.16)points,which was higher than that in the control group(3.02±1.03)points(P<0.05).The P and N scores of the Eysenck Child Personality Questionnaire in the observation group were found to be significantly higher than those in the control group,while the E scores were significantly lower(P<0.05).Additionally,the physiological function,emotional function,social function,school performance,and total score of the observation group were all significantly lower compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).F2,F3 and M2 in observation group were higher than those in control group,F1,F4,M1 and M5 were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Functional abdominal pain symptom score was negatively correlated with F1 and M1 factors of parenting style,but positively correlated with F3 and M2.There was negative correlation with Eysenck child personality factor E and positive correlation with N and P factors.It was negatively correlated with children's quality of life(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a close relationship between the personality traits,quality of life,and parenting styles of children with functional abdominal pain.Emotional instability,introverted personality,and mental characteristics are the basis for the occurrence of functional abdominal pain in children.Meanwhile,negative parenting styles can trigger various psychosocial factors that further exacerbate the condition and reduce the quality of life for affected children.Therefore,in addition to drug therapy,the clinical treatment department should also pay attention to the psychological intervention of children and evaluate the family upbringing mode to improve the quality of life.
