Analysis of 303 Cases of Adverse Drug Event Reported in a Hospital
Objective To analyze 303 cases of adverse drug events in a certain hospital,identify common causes of adverse drug events,and propose targeted improvement suggestions.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 303 adverse drug events reported by a tertiary hospital in January to December 2023.Excel software was used to statistically analyze the patient's basic situation,visit type,event type,event grading,drug type,and reporting department situation,and to analyze their causes and characteristics.Results There were slightly more female patients than males.The proportion of patients over 50 years old is the highest(62.38%).The proportion of hospitalized patients was the highest(92.41%).In terms of type,adverse drug reactions were the third level indicator type with the highest proportion(95.71%).The number of adverse events was ranked as level Ⅰ(n=0),level Ⅱ(n=29),level Ⅲ(n=259),level Ⅳ(n=3),and general hazard events(n=12).Internal medicine department accounted for the largest proportion(80.86%).Head and neck tumor ward,infectious diseases center and abdominal tumor ward were the top three departments with the largest number of reports.Conclusion Based on the results of data analysis,countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to strengthen the awareness of safe medication among medical personnel,improve special medication processes,optimize information systems,and strengthen the management of adverse drug events.
