Development and Validation of a Questionnaire on Knowledge,Attitudes and Practices in Post-Transplant Self-Management for Kidney Transplant Recipients
Objective To develop a questionnaire for assessing post-transplant self-management in kidney transplant recipients and to evaluate its validity.Methods A total of 34 patients who underwent kidney transplantation in liver and kidney transplantation center,department of general surgery,Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2018 to January 2020 were collected.The preliminary draft of the survey questionnaire was formed through literature review.8 experts from the clinical and nursing,pharmacy,nutrition,and rehabilitation departments of transplantation center,Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were invited to conduct two rounds of meeting discussions using the Delphi method.Using random sampling method,34 kidney transplant recipients from liver and kidney transplantation center,Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were selected for a preliminary trial survey to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,and the final version of the survey questionnaire was formed.Results The questionnaire comprised 42 items,encompassing three dimensions:knowledge,attitudes,and practices.A total of 34 valid responses were collected,achieving a 100%response rate.The overall Cronbach's α coefficient for the questionnaire was 0.923,with α values of 0.931 for knowledge,0.706 for attitudes,0.898 for practices(compliance with postoperative follow-up examinations),and-0.084 for the morisky medication adherence questionnaire.The survey results indicated good internal consistency,with strong reliability observed in the knowledge,attitudes,and practices dimensions.Conclusion The questionnaire on post-transplant self-management levels,attitudes,and practices for kidney transplant recipients demonstrates good reliability and validity.It can be utilized to investigate and assess the current status of self-management among post-kidney transplant recipients.
