Effect of Upper Eyelid Double Blepharoplasty on Quality of Life and Satisfaction of Patients
Objective To evaluate patients received upper eyelid double blepharoplasty after the changes in quality of life,and to the satisfaction of the operation.Methods A total of 154 patients who underwent upper eyelid double blepharoplasty at Affiliated Fuzhou First Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected for a retrospective observational cohort study,and the patients' demographic data and clinical data were collected.The data were used to evaluate changes in the patient's quality of life and satisfaction with the surgery through the facial clinical assessment scale(Face-Q)before surgery and 6 months after surgery.Results There were no serious complications in this group of patients that required re surgical correction.The results of the SF-36 scale showed that the scores of patients in both social function and mental health dimensions were significantly improved compared to before surgery,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The Face-Q results showed that the patient's eye appearance,social confidence,mental health,early impact on life,decision satisfaction,and outcome satisfaction scores significantly improved compared to preoperative,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).The survey results showed that there is also a high evaluation of feedback on the early impact of surgery on life,and patients are satisfied with the decision and outcome of surgery.Conclusion Upper eyelid double eyelid surgery not only effectively improves the eye appearance,but also improves the quality of life of patients,especially the mental and social function,and has a high patient satisfaction.
