Clinical Study on Treatment of Cervical Hypertension by Acupuncture Myofascial Trigger Point Combined With Cervical Vertebra Reduction
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at myofascial trigger points combined with targeted cervical rotation and reduction in treating cervical origin hypertension. Methods A total of 70 outpatient patients from the department of acupuncture and department of cardiovascular medicine,Guigang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected from September 2021 to September 2023.They were divided into a control group(n=35)and an observation group(n=35)using random number tables. The control group received traditional Chinese acupuncture, while the observation group received acupuncture at myofascial trigger points combined with targeted cervical rotation and repositioning.Blood pressure, visual analogue scale(VAS),stiffness sensation in the head and neck, and cervical mobility were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention, the pain scores of the two groups of patients were compared, and there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).After the intervention, the observation group had lower pain scores than the control group(P<0.05).Prior to the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure between the two groups(P>0.05).However,after the intervention, both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in stiffness sensation and cervical mobility between the two groups(P>0.05).Following the intervention, the observation group had significantly lower stiffness sensation and greater cervical mobility compared to the control group(P<0.05).Finally,the overall effective rate in the observation group(97.14%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(77.14%)after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Combining needling of myofascial trigger points with targeted cervical spine rotation and repositioning is an effective method for treating cervical-origin hypertension,it can reducing blood pressure and improving symptoms.
