Analysis of Clinical Distribution Characteristics of Fall Adverse Events in Hospital
Objective Retrospective analysis of the adverse events of falls in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University,tracing the causes of the events,and analyzing the clinical distribution characteristics of the events.Methods A total of 311 cases of adverse events of fall nursing reported in the hospital Tute system Classification of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected.The clinical features,time and place distribution and severity classification of falls were analyzed.Results The ratio of male to female in 311 patients with falls was 163∶148.>59 years old,primary school culture the highest incidence of falls.The patients whose internal medicine and disease type of malignant tumors were the most likely to fall.The seasonal distribution of falls remained the same.The frequency of occurrence was mainly day shift.The places of falls were mainly distributed in bedside,toilet and other areas in the ward room,accounting for 30.89%(96/311),26.69%(83/311)and 17.04%(53/311),respectively.The severity of falls was mainly≤1 level injury.Nurses on duty showed that with the extension of working years and the increase of professional titles,the incidence of fall adverse events gradually decreased.The difference of education level and the state before falling/falling out of bed had statistical significance on the severity of fall injury(P<0.05).Conclusion Elderly,less educated and active patients need to develop special care policies and specialized fall prevention measures to reduce the incidence of falls and the degree of injury after falls.
