Parasite Detection and Retrospective Analysis of Inpatients in a Hospital From 2020 to 2023
Objective To understand the detection status of parasites in fecal specimens of hospitalized patients at Chongqing Hechuan Hongren Hospital,and analyze the risk factors for parasitic infections.Methods A total of 1 784 patients with parasitic diseases treated at Chongqing Hechuan Hongren Hospital from January 2020 to July 2023 were selected as the research subjects.Clinical data such as gender,age,occupation,and occult blood,etc.were retrospectively collected.To analyze and research the occurrence of parasitic diseases by gender,occupation and year,as well as to analyze the factors influencing the occurrence of parasitic diseases.Results Samples from different years showed significant effects on parasites(P<0.001).By comparing the percentage differences,it could be seen that in 2023,the proportion of infected hookworm eggs was 90.91%,which was higher than the average level of 82.46%.In terms of occupation,farmers,housework and unemployed,other types of work,unemployed and retired people were the top five infected with parasitic epidemics.Factors influencing the parasitic disease events were year,age,and occupation.Conclusion Parasitic epidemics may vary depending on gender,occupation,and year.Among them,male farmers have a higher probability of developing parasitic diseases,with hookworm egg infection ranking first.
