Clinical Effect of Pedicle Screw Fixation in the Treatment of Severe Osteoporotic Spinal Compression Fractures
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of pedicle nailing and surgical method in patients with severe osteoporosis combined with compressive spinal fractures. Methods A retrospective summary analysis was conducted on 60 patients with severe osteoporosis and spinal compression fractures at orthopaedic treatment center, the People's Hospital of Mengzi from April 2021 to April 2023.According to the treatment method, the patients were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received simple vertebral body shaping surgery, while the observation group received pedicle screw fixation combined with vertebral body shaping surgery. Two groups of vertebral structure indicators were compared. Results Two days after treatment, the vertebral height recovery rate and vertebral height compression rate increased in both groups, and the observation group had higher vertebral height recovery rate and vertebral height compression rate[(62.57±2.46)%,(62.56±2.42)%]than the control group[(48.92±2.54)%,(46.85±2.53)%](P<0.05).The posterior angles of two groups of vertebral bodies decreased, and the observation group had a lower angle of(8.23±1.34)° compared to the control group(11.26±1.43)°(P<0.05).Three months after treatment, the vertebral height recovery rate and vertebral height compression rate increased in the two groups, and the observation group[(61.63±2.52)%],the vertebral height compression rate[(61.42±2.46)%]was higher than the control group[(46.96±2.2)%,(44.07±2.29)%](P<0.05),and the posterior angle decreased in the observation group[(8.74±1.28)°]Lower than that in the control group[(12.95±1.36)°](P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 6.67%,which was lower than 30.00%of the control group(P=0.045).Conclusion In patients with severe osteoporosis and compression spinal fractures,it can improve the treatment effect and prevent complications.
