Study on the Application of Combined sIgE and sIgG4 Assay in Allergic Diseases
Objective To characterize the distribution of allergen-specific IgE antibody(sIgE)and food-specific IgG4 antibody(sIgG4)in patients with allergic diseases, and to provide a basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods A total of 1 617 allergic patients who visited the Second Hospital of Sanming,Fujian Province from May 19,2022 to November 14,2023 were selected as the experimental subjects, and serum allergen specific IgE antibodies and food specific IgG4 antibodies were jointly detected. Results Among 1 617 allergic patients,sIgE positive rate was 45.83%,sIgG4 positive rate was 75.02%,and IgE and sIgG4 were positive at the same time accounted for 42.52%;inhalation allergen positive rate of house dust mite/powder dust mite was the highest in the sIgE test at 34.45%,and the highest in the ingested allergen, milk, was 8.23%,and the top two positive rate in the sIgG4 test was eggs and milk,66.54%and 47.68%,respectively;sIgE sensitization degree was concentrated in level 1-2,with one type of positive, and sIgG4 sensitization degree was concentrated in level 3,with two types of positive rate;the positive rates of house dust mite/powdery mildew mite, cockroach, mixed grasses, milk, crabs, and shrimps for sIgE in males were significantly higher than that in females(P<0.05),and the positive rate of sIgG4 in milk, cod, and wheat were significantly higher than that of females(P<0.05),while the positive rates of milk, cod, and wheat were significantly higher than that of females(P<0.05).Positive rates were significantly higher than those of females(P<0.05);positive rates of house dust mite/powdery mildew mite, mixed grass and milk sIgE were significantly lower in the adult group than those of the immature group(P<0.05),and positive rates of milk, egg, soy, cod and wheat sIgG4 were significantly lower in the adult group than those of the immature group(P<0.05);and the percentage of those whose symptoms improved after allergen intervention through doctor's guidance was 88.89%.Conclusion Combined sIgE and sIgG4 testing is important in guiding the prevention and treatment of allergy, and testing-guided interventions can be effective in improving symptoms.
