The Significance of Correlation Between Thyroid Function and Liver Function in Diagnosis and Treatment of Hypothyroidism
Objective To explore the clinical significance of testing thyroid function and liver function indicators in the diagnosis and treatment of hypothyroidism,and provide a basis for clinical practice.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the clinical examination data of 200 hypothyroidism patients(study group)who visited in Zhangzhou Municipal Hospital of Fujian Province from January to December 2023,and 100 healthy individuals(control group)who participated in health examinations during the same period.They all underwent thyroid function and liver function index tests,recorded and analyzed the differences in related index levels,and conducted correlation analysis on the relationship between the two.Results The levels of serum total triiodothyronine(TT3),total(TT3),total thyroxine(TT4),free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4)were lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The levels of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),total bilirubin(TBil),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that TSH level was positively correlated with ALT,AST and ALP(r=0.465,0.625,0.567,P<0.05),while TT3,TT4,FT4 were negatively correlated with AST(r=-0.374,-0.344,-0.412,P<0.05),TT3,TT4,FT3,FT4 were negatively correlated with AST(r=-0.341,-0.322,-0.373,-0.545,P<0.05),and FT3 was positively correlated with ALP(r=0.346,P<0.05).Conclusion Thyroid function and liver function indicators in patients with hypothyroidism have changed to a certain extent,and there is a correlation between the two indicators.Laboratory measurement of these two indicators is helpful for early prevention and treatment of hypothyroidism.
