Risk Factors and Intervention Strategies for Occupational Exposure of Blood Collection Nurses in Blood Stations
Objective To explore the risk factors and intervention strategies for occupational exposure of blood collection nurses in blood stations. Methods A total of 25 nurses who were collected blood from Jining City Central Blood Station from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects. The occupational exposure of nurses was analyzed, and single and multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify risk factors for occupational exposure. Results Among the 25 nurses,4 nurses experienced occupational exposure, with an exposure rate of 16.00%.In comparision of the blood station blood collection nurses aged>40-45 years,>25-40 years old,the occupational exposure rate of blood station blood collection nurses aged 20-25 years old was higher(P<0.05).In comparision of the blood station blood collection nurses with working years>3-10 years and>10-15 years, the occupational exposure rate of blood station blood collection nurses with working years 1-3 years was higher(P<0.05).In comparision of the injured arms, eyes, feet and other parts, the occupational exposure rate of blood station blood collection nurses with injured hands was higher(P<0.05).In comparision of the skin contact, mucosal contact, and other causes of exposure, the occupational exposure rate of blood station blood collection nurses with needle puncture injuries was higher(P<0.05).In comparision of the without occupational protection training, the occupational exposure rate of the blood station blood collection nurses with occupational protection training was higher(P<0.05).The results of logistic multivariate analysis showed that age 20-25 years(OR=43.254),working experience 1-3 years(OR=15.237),injured hand(OR=29.435),exposure cause acupuncture injury(OR=7.348),and no occupational protection training(OR=8.793)were independent risk factors affecting occupational exposure of blood station blood collection nurses(P<0.05).Conclusion There are certain risks associated with occupational exposure among blood station blood collection nurses, which are related to age, length of service, location of injury, cause of exposure, occupational protection training, etc. It is necessary to actively provide training according to the actual situation of nurses to improve their blood collection skills.
