Comparative Analysis of Hospitalization Costs of Patients With Endometrial Cancer in a Tertiary Hospital in Fujian Province From 2016 to 2023
Objective To explore the hospitalization costs of patients with endometrial cancer(EC).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 100 EC patients admitted to Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2016 to December 2023 to study the basic situation,hospitalization cost composition,and changing trends of EC patients.Results The variables with the highest proportions among 100 EC patients were age>45-60 years(51%),length of hospital stay>10-20 d(69%),medical insurance payment(84%),surgical treatment(79%),general case type(67%),and comorbidities/complications(63%).Compared with the hospitalization costs of patients from 2016 to 2019,the antibacterial drug cost(728.54±32.13)yuan and western medicine cost(4 654.23±243.53)yuan for patients from 2020 to 2023 were lower,and the surgical treatment cost(7 178.24±359.46)yuan,non-surgical treatment project cost(555.28±13.64)yuan,nursing cost(1 226.37±33.61)yuan,anesthesia cost(1 921.35±185.42)yuan,diagnostic cost(3 542.35±254.63)yuan,other medical expenses(4 857.42±166.28)yuan,and total cost(32 147.59±1 324.28)yuan for patients were all higher,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The total hospitalization costs of EC patients is on the rise,and the economic burden on patients is relatively heavy.
