Analysis of the Effect of Therapeutic Denture on Edentulous Denture
Objective To analyze the effects of therapeutic denture on the spatial recovery, retention and chewing ability of edentulous denture. Methods From August 2018 to August 2023,72 patients with edentulous denture admitted to the department of stomatology,Wuyishan City Hospital were selected. All patients received therapeutic denture restoration after admission. The spatial recovery, retention and chewing ability of dentures were observed and analyzed. Results The partial occlusion of patients after treatment was(0.19±0.11)lbs,significantly lower than that before treatment(0.72±0.23)lbs,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total biting force after treatment was(486.54±175.16)lbs,which was significantly higher than that before treatment(197.21±112.38)lbs,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The retention score, stability score, objective mastication score and subjective mastication score were(2.21±0.35)points,(2.16±0.32)points,(4.27±0.41)points and(4.68±0.52)points,respectively,which were significantly higher than those before treatment(0.68±0.14)points,(0.63±0.17)points,(1.04±0.18)points and(0.87±0.54)points,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of therapeutic denture can make the edentulous denture patients recover a good space, and at the same time,it can significantly improve the oral health, and significantly improve the denture chewing ability and retention stability. The results of this study provide reference content for the later standard setting of the application of therapeutic denture.
