Investigation on Knowledge,Attitude and Practice of Clinical Nurses on Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism
Objective To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of clinical nurses' knowledge,attitude and practice on prevention of venous thromboembolism(VTE),and to provide feasible suggestions and concrete basis for later hospital and department to prevent VTE.Methods From January to July 2023,a survey was conducted on 301 clinical nursing staff from 6 tertiary hospitals in Fuzhou using the"Survey Questionnaire on the Knowledge,Attitude,and Practice of VTE Prevention among Clinical Nurses".Results A total of 301 valid questionnaires were collected,of which the total score of VTE prevention kap was(92.54±9.72)points,the average scores of knowledge,belief and behavior were(3.58±0.89)points,(4.78±0.43)points and(4.48±0.68)points,respectively.In the demographic data,professional title,educational background,working years had a statistically significant impact on the score(P<0.05).Conclusion The attitude of clinical nurses in three first-class hospitals in Fuzhou to prevent VTE was positive,but their knowledge and preventive behavior were at a low level.It is suggested that the hospital should establish a standardized VTE prevention and management system,strengthen the training and assessment,and improve the level of VTE prevention and treatment for nursing staff.
