Screening and Early Intervention of Spinal Deformities in Adolescents in Haicang District,Xiamen City
Objective To understand the spinal health status of adolescents aged 10-18 in Haicang District,Xiamen City through screening,and to provide theoretical basis and simple and effective screening methods for future screening and prevention of scoliosis in adolescents. Methods From September 2020 to July 2023,according to the principles and methods of the "Clinical Practice Guidelines and Pathway Guidelines for Scoliosis Screening in Chinese Adolescents",11735 adolescents aged 10-18 from some primary and secondary schools in Haicang District,Xiamen City were screened for spinal health. The basic information of positive subjects in primary and secondary screening and the distribution of Cobb Angle in idiopathic scoliosis of different genders were analyzed. Results A total of 225 cases were positive in primary screening. Rescreening positive results were found in 75 cases,including 19 males and 56 females,all of which were idiopathic scoliosis. There were 51 cases ranging from 10° to 20°,18 males and 33 females. There were 21 cases>20° to 45°,1 male and 20 female. There were 3 cases>45°,0 males and 3 females. Conclusion The spinal health status of adolescents in Haicang District,Xiamen City is good,and the prevalence rate of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) in 10-18 years old was 0.64%,which is at the moderate level in China. The male to female ratio is 1∶3.00,and the risk age is 10-14 years old.
