A Survey and Analysis of the Cognitive Status of Nursing Staff Towards the Group Standard of "Prevention and Care for Adult Incontinence Related Dermatitis"
Objective By understanding the group standard awareness of clinical nurses towards the prevention and care of adult incontinence related dermatitis,reference can be provided for further standardizing clinical implementation and management.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted in January 2024 to conveniently select 257 nursing staff from 10 departments of a tertiary comprehensive hospital in Xiamen,including internal medicine,surgery,obstetrics and gynecology,pediatrics,operating rooms,intensive care units,rehabilitation departments,hemodialysis rooms,outpatient and emergency departments,and geriatrics department.A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the cognitive status of nursing staff on the group standard for the prevention and care of adult incontinence dermatitis,which included three parts,general information on the prevention and care of adult incontinence related dermatitis and ways to acquire knowledge.The influencing factors on the cognitive status of nursing staff with incontinence dermatitis were analyzed.Results The overall score of 257 nursing staff in the implementation of the group standard for the prevention and care of adult incontinence dermatitis was[overall score (81.83±21.53) points],which was at a moderate level.The items with good scores include "IAD prevention-timely skin cleaning;IAD skin assessment-assessment of site;incontinence management-use of collection and/or drainage devices;incontinence management-prevention of potential complications of collection and/or drainage device use".However,in terms of the frequency of selecting skin protective products and evaluating the risk of IAD in patients with incontinence dermatitis,the score waslower and the execution was poor.Conclusion The awareness of group standards among nursing staff is moderate,and it is necessary for nursing managers to strengthen the training of clinical nurses on the weak links in the implementation of group standards and standardize the nursing procedures for incontinence dermatitis;To achieve the prevention and care goals of incontinence dermatitis.
