Effect of Orthokeratology Lens Combined With Frame Glasses on Adolescent Patients With High Myopia
Objective To analyze the effect of orthokeratology lens combined with frame glasses on adolescent patients with high myopia. Methods A total of 60 adolescents with high myopia admitted to Zhangzhou Kehong Eye Hospital from January 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects.Groups according to voluntary treatment selection were divided into observation group (n=34,64 eyes) and control group (n=26,49 eyes). The control group was treated with frame glasses, while the observation group was treated with frame glasses and orthokeratology lens. The visual acuity (VA),refractive error (RE),axial length (AL),intraocular pressure (IOP),corneal curvature (K),endothelial cell density (ECD) and hexagonal cells (HEX) of two groups were compared. Results Before treatment, there was no statistical difference in VA,RE,AL,IOP,and K between the two groups (P>0.05).After 6 months and 1 year of treatment, the VA values of the observation group were (0.68±0.11) and (0.85±0.13),which were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After 6 months and 1 year of treatment, the RE values of the observation group were (1.45±0.34)D,(0.99±0.24)D,the AL values of the observation group were (24.18±3.48)mm,and (24.27±4.32)mm,which were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After 1 year of treatment, there was no statistical difference in IOP and K between the two groups (P>0.05).Before treatment and after 1 year of treatment, there was no statistical difference in ECD and HEX between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Teenagers with high myopia can effectively improve the correction of myopic refractive error and aid in the recovery of vision through the combined use of orthokeratology lenses, with high safety.
