Awareness and Influencing Factors of AIDS Knowledge Among Unpaid Blood Donors in Jining Blood Center
Objective To explore the awareness and influencing factors of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) knowledge among unpaid blood donors in Jining Blood Center. Methods A total of 1264 unpaid blood donors from October 2020 to October 2023 in Jining Blood Center were selected,to investigate the awareness of AIDS knowledge,and single factor and multiple factor logistic regression analysis were conducted to clarify the influencing factors of AIDS knowledge awarenes. Results A total of 1046 of 1264 unpaid blood donors knew about AIDS,the awareness rate was 82.75%,and 218 did not know about AIDS,the ignorance rate was 17.25%. The proportion of individuals in the unaware group with age>50 years old,educational level of junior high school and below,occupational industry and agriculture,residence in rural areas,and lack of publicity services in recent one year was higher than that of the aware group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Multiple factor logistic regression analysis showed that age>50 years old (OR=2.438),educational level of junior high school and below (OR=1.573),occupational industry and agriculture (OR=1.788),residence in rural areas (OR=3.458),and lack of publicity services in recent one year (OR=7.132) were independent factors affecting AIDS knowledge awareness among unpaid blood donors in Jining Blood Center (P<0.05). Conclusion The awareness rate of AIDS knowledge among Jining Blood Center is low. It is related to age,educational level,occupation,residence,whether to accept publicity services in the past year and other factors. It is necessary to strengthen the publicity of AIDS knowledge,so as to improve the awareness of the masses and actively take preventive measures.
