The Role of Hospital Infection Management Department and Logistics Department in Medical Waste Management
Objective To explore the role,implementation measures and effects of joint supervision between the infection management department and the logistics department in hospital medical waste management. Methods A total of 200 pieces of medical waste before strengthening hospital infection management in the First People's Hospital of Tianmen from September 2021 to September 2022 were selected as the control group,and a total of 200 pieces of medical waste after strengthening hospital infection management from October 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the observation group. The qualified rate of two groups of medical waste after treatment was compared. Results The qualified rates of medical waste separation,medical waste and household waste classification,storage tools,and garbage bag storage in the observation group were 96.00％,97.50％ and 96.50％,respectively,which were higher than the 89.00％,90.50％ and 88.00％ of the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In the management of hospital medical waste,the hospital infection management department and the logistics department play an important role. Strengthening the management of medical waste is conducive to better control the occurrence of hospital infection and improve the qualified rate of medical waste treatment.
