Investigation and Analysis on the Current Situation of Dietary Nutrition Knowledge,Belief and Practice of Clinical Nurses in a Three-Grade Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Zhengzhou
Objective To investigate the current situation of dietary nutrition knowledge,belief and practice of clinical nurses in a third class hospital of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhengzhou,and provide basis for further targeted nutrition education in the future. Methods A self-made questionnaire was used to investigate the dietary nutrition knowledge,attitude and behavior of 200 in-service clinical nurses with nursing qualification certificate from August to September 2023 in Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The basic situation of clinical nurses was investigated,the current situation of dietary nutrition knowledge,belief and practice of clinical nurses was analyzed,and the scores of dietary nutrition knowledge,belief and practice of clinical nurses were compared with different age,nursing age,education level,professional title and whether they had participated in nutrition training. Results A total of 200 questionnaires were issued and 200 were recovered,with a recovery rate of 100%. The scores of nutrition knowledge of 200 clinical nurses were (11.40±1.88) points,the score of nutrition attitude was (31.13±2.63) points,the nutritional behavior score was (19.87±3.47) points. The most correct answer of nutrition knowledge was "which cooking method is the healthiest" (99.5%),and the least correct answer was "daily intake of cooking oil" (25.5%).>90% of clinical nurses considered nutrition attitude to be important or very important. Currently,the top 3 channels for clinical nurses to obtain nutrition knowledge were mobile phones (89.5%),books (80.5%) and newspapers (67.5%),and the top 3 channels for clinical nurses hoping to obtain nutrition knowledge were nutrition lectures (74.5%),mobile phones (61.0%) and books (60.0%). Food collocation (84.5%) and nutrition and diseases (80.5%) were the top two contents of nutrition knowledge that they wanted to acquire. The proportion of patients who always carried out nutrition health education at work was 46.5%,and the proportion of patients who always paid attention to the accumulation of nutrition knowledge at work was 38.5%. The scores of nutrition knowledge and nutrition behavior of>39 years old and>29-39 years old were higher than those of 20-29 years old,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);there was no significant difference in nutrition attitude scores among different age groups (P>0.05). The scores of nutrition knowledge and nutrition behavior of clinical nurses in nursing age>10 years group were higher than those in<5 years group and 5-10 years group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);there was no significant difference in nutrition attitude scores among different nursing age groups (P>0.05). The scores of nutrition knowledge in undergraduate group and above were higher than those in junior college group,and the scores of nutrition behavior in undergraduate group and above were higher than those in technical secondary school group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);there was no significant difference in nutrition attitude scores among different education level groups (P>0.05). The nutritional knowledge scores[(11.59±1.88) points,(13.00±1.39) points]and nutritional behavior scores[(20.82±3.43) points,(22.21±1.93) points]of the nurse group and the nurse-in-charge and above group were higher than those of the nurse group[(10.94±1.76) points,(18.92±3.42) points];there was no significant difference in the scores of nutrition attitude among different professional title groups (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the scores of nutrition knowledge,nutrition attitude and nutrition behavior of clinical nurses in the group with or without nutrition training (P>0.05). Conclusion The current situation of dietary nutrition knowledge and practice of clinical nurses in hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine is not optimistic. It is urgent and necessary for clinical nurses to learn nutrition knowledge.
