Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Whole-Staff Participation Quality Control Model in Emergency Resuscitation Room Nursing Management
Objective To explore the effectiveness of a comprehensive staff-engaged quality control model in nursing management within the emergency resuscitation room. Methods From July 2021 to December 2022,a comprehensive staff-engaged quality control model was implemented in the resuscitation room of the Affiliated Suqian First People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University for nursing management. This involved establishing a framework, defining personnel responsibilities, formulating rules and project scoring, implementing quality control, and summarizing results. Quality control results were compiled every 6 months starting from January 2021,with 12 nursing-sensitive indicators as outcome measures. Results A total of 46 nurses were included in the study, comprising 18 males and 28 females. Data from four rounds of quality control assessments were collected. Analysis of intergroup differences revealed statistically significant differences in nine indicators. These included the passing rate of training assessments (F=17.502,df1=3,df2=78.771,P<0.001),triage accuracy (F=8718.141,df1=3,df2=202089,P<0.001),compliance rate of average stay time for critically ill patients in the green channel (F=5411.891,df1=3,df2=5169,P<0.001),on-time entry rate of severely injured patients into the operating room (F=36060.727,df1=3,df2=7402,P<0.001),average waiting time for emergency patients (F=7.681,df1=3,df2=219,P<0.001),average initiation time of thrombolytic therapy (F=8.232,df1=3,df2=101,P<0.001),average initiation time for gastric lavage in poisoned patients (F=24.211,df1=3,df2=64.467,P<0.001),average time from admission decision to ward transfer (F=922.231,df1=3,df2=3985,P<0.001),and the implementation rate of standard practices for in-hospital emergency transfers (F=12.283,df1=3,df2=7.126,P=0.003). Overall, there was an improving trend in nursing quality. Conclusion A comprehensive staff-engaged quality control model can enhance the quality of nursing management in the emergency resuscitation room.
