Research on the Practice and Effect of"Cross Ward Admission"
Objective To explore the strategy and effect of implementing cross ward admission operation mode in public hospitals under the background of limited bed resources. Methods The data of discharged patients from 23 pilot wards in the Affiliated Huai'an No.1 People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from April to June 2023 and from October to December 2023 were selected as the research object. The changes of number of bed turnover, bed utilization rate, bed waiting time and satisfaction index were observed before and after the operation mode of cross-ward treatment was implemented in the pilot ward. Results After the implementation of the cross ward admission operation mode, the number of bed turnover and the bed utilization rate were(13.39±5.75)times and(95.03±2.04)%,respectively,which were higher than(12.68±5.56)times and(91.02±6.01)%before the implementation, after the implementation of the cross ward admission operation mode, the waiting time of bed was(1.52±0.51)days,which was shorter than(1.97±0.47)days before the implementation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the implementation of the cross ward admission operation mode, the satisfaction of medical unit and admission service were(98.10±0.91)points and(97.74±0.94)points,respectively,which were higher than(97.08±1.19)points and(97.14±1.10)points before the implementation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The cross ward admission operation model can effectively alleviate the coexistence of scarce and idle beds in hospitals, and is an important measure for the scientific coordination and efficient operation of hospital resources, which is conducive to promoting high-quality development of hospitals.
