Analysis of Influencing Factors of Discharge Preparation in Elderly Patients With T2DM Complicated With Metabolic Syndrome
Objective To analyze the current situation and influencing factors of discharge preparation in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with metabolic syndrome. Methods A total of 115 patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome treated in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Qiqihar Medical University from November 2023 to March 2024 were selected as subjects. The discharge readiness Assessment scale for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus was used to investigate, the single factors influencing discharge readiness of elderly T2DM patients with metabolic syndrome were analyzed, and the factors influencing discharge readiness of elderly patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome were analyzed by multiple linear regression. Results The average age of the 115 patients was(63.77±7.48)years old,62.6%were male,38.3%had a high school education,44.3%had a monthly income of>3 000 yuan,91.3%had two chronic diseases, and 60.9%had been admitted to hospital for>1 to 3 times. The total score of discharge readiness was(75.31±23.93)points.There were statistically significant differences in discharge readiness scores among different education levels, monthly income and hospital admissions(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level, monthly income and hospital admission were the influencing factors of discharge readiness in elderly patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome(P<0.05),which could explain 40.3%of the variance. Conclusion Educational level, monthly income and number of hospital admissions are the influencing factors of discharge readiness in elderly patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome. These factors need to be taken into account in order to develop targeted interventions to help patients better manage their disease and improve their quality of life.
