Effects of Intensive Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined With Acupoint Massage Along Meridians on ODI and Lumbar Mobility in Patients With Lumber Disc Herniation
Objective To explore the effect of intensive warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with acupoint massage along meridians on the Oswestry disability index(ODI)and lumbar activity in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods A total of 60 LDH patients admitted to Nanping People's Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the study objects. They were divided into control group and observation group with 30 cases in each group according to random number table method. The two groups of patients were treated with acupoint massage along meridians. At the same time, the control group was treated with conventional warm needle moxibustion based on this, and the observation group was treated with intensive warm acupuncture and moxibustion. The ODI score, lumbar range of motion changes and curative effect were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the ODI scores of the observation group and the control group were(13.27±2.65)points and(18.83±4.38)points,respectively,which were lower than(39.37±4.17)points and(38.17±4.26)points before treatment, and the scores of the observation group were lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the forward flexion, backward extension, lateral flexion, and rotational activity of the observation group were(75.73±5.70)°,(30.23±5.76)°,(32.20±5.99)°,(38.10±4.06)°,which were greater than(68.57±8.56)°,(25.63±3.40)°,(28.77±4.88)°,(33.17±3.11)° of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%,which was higher than 73.33%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The intensive warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with acupoint massage along meridians has a significant effect on patients with LDH,which can reduce lumbar dysfunction and improve the lumbar mobility of patients.
