Research on the Cognitive Differences of College Student Groups of Internet Rumors of Public Health Emergencies
Public health emergencies are highly concerned,which is easy to breed network rumors.These ru-mors can have negative effects on the psychology and behavior of netizens,especially college students who are prone to crowding and forwarding such rumors.In this paper,we analyzd typical rumors related to the COVID-19 pan-demic and investigate the basic information of college students,as well as their perception of the information epidem-ic,emotions towards specific rumors,and behavior after accepting such rumors.Our study aims to identify differ-ences in college students'network rumor perception and behavior.Our study reveals that the expression of rumor sources,as well as the geographical directionality,emotional mobilization,and reality relevance of rumor informa-tion,have varying effects on different college student groups.College students play a crucial role in the transmission of online rumors.Therefore,it is important for government departments and colleges to enhance the psychological resilience and information literacy of students,particularly during public health emergencies.
