Discussion on the effects of occupational high temperature and noise exposure on blood lipids in a thermal power plant
Objective To analyze the blood lipid levels, dyslipidemia types and the disease status of workers exposed to occupational high temperature and noise, and to explore the influencing factors of dyslipidemia,so as to provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases in this occupational population. Methods Convenient sampling method was used,372 workers exposed to occupational high temperature and noise in a thermal power plant in Zibo City were selected as the high temperature and noise exposure group, and 350 healthy persons who were not exposed to high temperature and noise in the same period were selected as the non-exposure group according to age and sex.The occupational health monitoring data of workers in a thermal power plant were collected, and the abnormalities of blood pressure, blood lipid and blood glucose in the exposed group and the non-exposed group were analyzed.Binary Logis-tic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of dyslipidemia. Results The age of 722 subjects was 40.0(32.0,49.0).Among them,635 were males and 87 were females. The prevalence rates of hypertriglyceridemia(TG),high total cholesterol(TC),low high density lipoprotein(HDL-C)and high and low density lipoprotein(LDL-C)were 22.2% ,7.9% ,8.3% and 4.6% ,respectively. The abnormal detection rates and levels of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,TC,TG and LDL-C in the high temperature and noise exposure group were significantly higher than those in the non-exposure group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The risks of hyperTC and hyper LDL-C in the high temperature and noise exposure group were 1.728(1.008,3.103)and 2.858(1.212,6.739)times higher than those in the non-exposure group, respectively. There was no significant difference in the risk of high TG and low HDL-C between the two groups, and the OR values were 0.960(0.636,1.449)and 1.367(0.743,2.517),respec-tively.The risk of hyper TG was the highest in workers aged 30-39 years, with an OR value of 4.708(2.196,10.096).Conclusion High temperature and noise exposure are risk factors for high TC and high LDL-C.Health monitoring of blood lipids and regular screening should be carried out for workers exposed to high temperature and noise in order to reduce the prevalence of hyperlipidemia in occupational population.
