Epidemiological characteristics of mumps in Yanbian Prefecture from 2017 to 2021
Objective To analyze the epidemic trend of mumps in Yanbian Prefecture from 2017 to 2021,grasp its inci-dence regularity,so as to provide scientific basis for formulating prevention and control strategy of mumps.Methods De-scriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the regional distribution,age range,sex ratio and occupation distri-bution of mumps cases in Yanbian Prefecture from 2017 to 2021.Results From 2017 to 2021,there were 1 400 cases of mumps in Yanbian Prefecture,with a high average incidence rate of 12.09/100 000.The incidence peaked from March to June and from September to December each year,accounting for 76.93%of the total cases;The incidence rate of males(12.50/100 000)was higher than that of females(10.38/100 000),which mainly concentrated in the cases under the age of 10,accounting for 74.36%of the total cases.The incidence rate decreased with the increase of age.The occupation dis-tribution was mainly students,accounting for 52.79%of the total cases;The average annual incidence rate in Yanji City(21.58/100 000)was higher than that in other counties(cities).Conclusion In 2018 and 2019,the reported incidence of mumps in Yanbian Prefecture increased significantly,and the incidence of mumps in other years from 2017 to 2021 was generally stable.It is recommended to strengthen epidemic surveillance of mumps,focusing on the vaccination of school-age children and epidemic prevention and control.
