Survey on virulence gene of Listeria monocytogenes from imported aquatic products
Objective To study the virulent genes prevalence of Listeria monocytogenes (LM) isolated from imported aquatic products. Methods Polymerase chain reaction was used to identify 9 virulence genes including prfA,iap, actA,plcB,plcA,mpl, inlB,Hly,inlA from 66 Listeria monocytogenes which were isolated from imported aquatic products of Ningbo. Results Among 66 Listeria monocytogene strains,16 isolates were found virulence genes deletion. The positive rates of prfA,iap, mpl, inlB and inlA were 84.8% (56/66),93.9% (62/66),95.5% (63/66),98.5% (65/66),98.5% (65/66) respectively. Conclusion Virulence genes are common in Listeria monocytogene isolates from imported aquatic products of Ningbo. It is required to strengthen the surveillance of Listeria monocytogene for the potential threat to food safety.
