Detection and analysis of common respiratory pathogens in 1 243 hospitalized children
Objective This paper aims to explore the epidemiological characteristics of common respiratory pathogens in children in Huzhou area. Methods A total of 1 243 pathogenic samples of hospitalized children with respiratory tract infections were collected from December 2021 to November 2022.PCR capillary electrophoresis fragment analysis was used to detect 13 common respiratory pathogens, and the results were analyzed statistically. Results The detection rate of pathogens in 1 243 specimens was 63.80%(793/1 243).The detection rates of single pathogens were high in HRV,HRSV,HPIV,MP,and HMPV,respectively with 15.45%,10.22%,7.08%,4.99%,and 4.67%.The detection rates of HPIV+HRV and HRV+HRSV were high among ≥2 pathogen-causing infections, which were respectively 1.37%and 1.13%.The detection rate of InfA in influenza virus was 4.18%,while the detection rate of InfB was 3.46%.Among them,48 cases of InfA were H3N2 type and no H1N1 type was detected. The incidence rates of male and female pathogen examinations were 64.22%and 63.19%,with the differences not statistically significant(P>0.05).The detection rates of pathogen in the 0-6 month group,the6month-1 year group, the 1-3 year group, and the 3-year group were respectively 60.39%,66.25%,71.10%,and 60.43%,with the differences statistically significant between the groups(P<0.05).The incidence rates of pathogenic bacteri-a in winter, spring, summer, and autumn were respectively 72.75%,58.99%,56.37%,and 65.63%,with the differences statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The respiratory tract infections in children in Huzhou City are mainly caused by viruses such as HRV,HRSV,and HPIV,with a peak prevalence in autumn and winter and a high detection rate among pre-school children.
