Changes and clinical significance of C-reactive protein/albumin ratio in patients with craniocerebral injury after decompressive craniectomy
Objective This paper aims to study the changes and clinical significance of C-reactive protein/albumin ratio(CRP/ALB)in patients with craniocerebral injury after decompressive craniectomy. Methods The patients with severe cranio-cerebral injury who were scheduled to undergo decompressive craniectomy from October 2020 to April 2022 were selected for a prospective study. The levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and albumin(ALB)were measured before operation,1 day after operation,3 days after operation,5 days after operation and 7 days after operation. On the 14th day after operation,Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS)was used to evaluate the prognosis of patients with craniocerebral injury, and the change of CRP/ALB ratio after operation was counted. The changes of CRP/ALB values in patients with different prognosis were compared, and the relationship between the CRP/ALB values after operation and the prognosis of patients was analyzed. Results CRP and CRP/ALB levels increased and ALB values decreased in patients with severe craniocerebral injury after decompressive craniectomy, and CRP and CRP/ALB values increased to the peak at 3 days after surgery, and then decreased gradually. The ALB value decreased in a low point and then increased gradually. After operation,39 of 90 patients with intracranial injury had a good prognosis, accounting for 43.33%.The CRP/ALB values before operation,1 day after operation,3 days after operation,5 days after operation and 7 days after operation in the group with good prognosis were lower than those in the group with poor prognosis, with the difference statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of binary correlation showed that CRP/ALB values were negatively correlated with the prognosis of patients with craniocerebral injury(P<0.05).Conclusion The change of CRP/ALB after decompressive craniectomy is related to the prognosis of patients with craniocerebral injury. The lower the value, the better the prognosis of patients.
