Analysis of infectious waste collection and influencing factors in outpatient blood collection
Objective This paper aims to analyze the infectious waste collection and the influencing factors in outpatient blood collection in the Second Peoples Hospital of Jiaozuo City,so as to provide reference for the source management of medical waste in outpatient blood collection. Methods The clinical data of patients collected from the outpatient department in December 2022 were selected, and the results of infectious waste collection, demographic characteristics, blood collection methods and compression mode after blood collection were analyzed.Factors for failed infectious waste collection were analyzed using logistic regression. Results The success rate of infectious waste collection in 1 003 outpatient blood sampling patients was 95.7%.Univariate analysis showed that there was no statistical significance on the difference in the success rate of infectious waste col-lection among patients with different genders, fees and disease types(P>0.05).There was statistical significance on the suc-cess rate of infectious waste collection between different ages, pressing mode and blood collection methods(P<0.05).The binary logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of collection failure is high in infants;the risk of collection failure in sur-gical dry swab press was higher than that in medical bottle mouth press;the risk of fingertip blood collection failure was higher than that of venous blood collection. Conclusion The main factors affecting the medical waste collection results are age,press-ing mode and blood collection method. The appropriate pressing mode should be adopted to implement the source management of medical waste and reduce the risk of disease transmission.
