The early warning value of serum albumin-based geriatric nutritional risk index for osteoporosis in postmenopausal women of community
Objective This study aims to explore the early warning value of serum albumin-based geriatric nutritional risk index(GNRI)for osteoporosis in postmenopausal women of community. Methods The clinical data of 298 postmenopausal female patients in the communities in the jurisdiction of Wenzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital-Wenzhou Shuixin Community Health Service Center Medical Association from January 2022 to December 2022 were included and divided into the osteoporosis group(100 cases)and the non-osteoporosis group(198 cases). The differences of general data and bone metabo-lism indexes between the two groups were compared, the correlation between GNRI and bone mineral density was analyzed, the relationship between GNRI and osteoporosis was discussed, and the early warning value of GNRI for osteoporosis was evaluated. Results The osteoporosis group had higher menopausal years than the non-osteoporosis group, while serum albumin level,GNRI scores and mean bone mineral density were lower than the non-osteoporosis group, with the differences statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).With GNRI grade decreasing, the osteoporosis composition ratio decreased simultaneously(P<0.01).After corrected for age,BMI and years of menopause,GNRI was still positively associated with albumin(r=0.540,P<0.05)and mean bone mineral density(r=0.609,P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression showed that GNRI was negatively associ-ated with the osteoporosis and was an independent protective factor for the osteoporosis(P<0.05).Conclusion In the postm-enopausal women of these communities,GNRI is closely related with the occurrence of osteoporosis, and high GNRI levels are an independent protective factor for the occurrence of osteoporosis.GNRI is an effective early warning indicator for osteoporosis. The early warning efficacy of GNRI is better in women with menopause over 10 years.
