Quantitative Analysis of Policy Texts of Medical Consumables Management in China Based on LDA Topic Model
Objective To analyze the theme structure and differences of medical consumables management policies from the national and regional levels,and provide reference for the convergence and optimization of medical consumables management poli-cies.Methods The policies related to the management of medical consumables in Peking University magic database from the estab-lishment of the database to April 1,2024 were systematically retrieved.The text measurement method and LDA topic model were used to quantitatively analyze the national and provincial medical consumables management policies in China.Results A total of 77 national and provincial medical consumables management policy texts were collected.The number of policies increased significant-ly twice in 2017 and 2019.The average national and provincial policy strength values was 2.6 and 2.3,respectively.After pre-processing the text,676 national keywords and 2155 provincial keywords were obtained.Through LDA theme modeling analysis,two major themes were extracted from the national policy texts,which were medical insurance and procurement management and clinical use management and quality control of medical consumables.The policies of the eastern,central,western and northeast-ern regions formed 2,3,5 and 3 themes around the above theme content,respectively.Conclusion China's medical consumables management policy focuses on medical insurance and procurement management.The provincial policy is basically consistent with the national policy,but there has some problems in adjusted and refined it,such as insufficient cooperation among different de-partments,lack of overall outlook,excessive depending on medical insurance and procurement management.Local government should intensify the policy synergy,value the holistic view,increase the input of clinical use management and quality control poli-cies,to improve the policies'accuracy.
