Correlation of intestinal microbiota with renal function and immune function in children with Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura nephritis
Objective To explore the correlation of intestinal microbiota with renal and immune functions in children with Henoch-Schönlein purpura nephritis(HSPN).Methods From September 2021 to September 2023,85 children with HSPN treated in our hospital were collected as the observation group, with 68 healthy children of the same age group who underwent physical examinations during the same period as the control group.Fasting venous blood and feces were collec-ted from the subjects. The qRT-PCR was applied to quantitatively analyze the gut Escherichia coli and bifidobacteria, and the ratio of bifidobacteria/E.coli(B/E)was calculated.ARRAY 360 specific protein analyzer and flow cytometry were ap-plied to detect immune function indicators, including immunoglobulin M(IgM),IgG,IgA,peripheral blood CD4+T cell and CD8+T cell, and CD4+/CD8+ratio were calculated.Pearson analysis was applied to analyze the correlations of gut mi-crobiota with renal function and immune function in patients with HSPN.Results There were no statistically obvious dif-ferences in gender, age and BMI between the two groups(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the observation group showed obvious increase in E.coli, blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, serum uric acid,IgM,IgG,IgA,and CD8+T cell(P<0.05),while obvious decrease in bifidobacteria,B/E,CD4+T cell, and CD4+/CD8+ratio(P<0.05).In patients with HSPN,E.coli was positively correlated with blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, serum uric acid,IgM,IgG,IgA,and CD8+T cell(P<0.001),and negatively correlated with CD4+T cell and CD4+/CD8+ratio(P<0.001).However,bifidobacteria and B/E were negatively correlated with blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, serum uric acid,IgM,IgG,IgA,and CD8+T cell(P<0.001),and positively correlated with CD4+T cell and CD4+/CD8+ratio(P<0.001).Conclusion Intestinal B/E ratio significantly decreased in children with HSPN,and correlated with renal function and immune function.
