Gut microbiota and risk factors of endometrial carcinoma:research progress
Endometrial carcinoma(EC)is a common gynecological malignant tumor characterized by elevated level of es-trogen,obesity,insulin resistance and other clinical manifestations, which affect the progression and prognosis of EC.The gut microbiota is a complex system of a large number of microorganisms that maintain the homeostasis of the body's vari-ous systems and produce some metabolites to influence the body. However, because of the large number of microbiota,it does harms to the host when dysbiosis occurs, leading to disturbance of host physiology, while the toxic metabolites can cause inflammation, increase the pathways related to tumors, affect body absorption and metabolism, tumor progression and deterioration, etc. With the advancement of genetic testing technology, increasing evidences showed that there is a cor-relation between gut microbiome and the risk factors for EC,which promotes the occurrence and development of EC.In this review,we mainly introduce the influence of intestinal microorganisms on the development of EC,focus on the rela-tionship between intestinal microorganisms and EC-related risk factors, and provide new ideas for EC treatment and pro-gnosis management.
