Effects of compound lactic acid bacteria combined with Montmorillonite powder on intestinal flora, oxidative stress and inflammatory factors in children with chronic diarrhea
Objective To explore the effects of compound lactic acid bacteria(LAB)combined with Montmorillonite powder on intestinal microecology, oxidative stress and inflammatory factors in children with chronic diarrhea, providing a reference for the treatment. Methods A total of 400 children with chronic diarrhea admitted in our hospital from June,2020 to August,2022 were randomly divided into observation group(given compound LAB combined with Montmorillon-ite powder)and control group(given compound LAB alone),with 200 cases in each group. The intestinal flora(Bifidobac-terium,Lactobacillus,Escherichia coli),stress indicators[malondialdehyde(MDA),nitric oxide(NO)],inflammatory factors[interleukin 10(IL-10),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)]and gastrointestinal hormones[gast-rin(GAS),motilin(MOT),somatostatin(SSTI)]were compared between groups. Results After treatment, the counts of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus in the observation group were higher, while that of Escherichia coli was lower than those in the control group respectively(all P<0.05).The levels of MDA,NO,TNF-α,GAS and MOT in the observation group were lower, while those of IL-10,IFN-γ and SSTI were higher than those in the control group respectively(all P<0.05).Conclusion Compound lactic acid bacteria combined with Montmorillonite powder is effective in treating chronic diarrhea in children, which is beneficial to regulate intestinal microecology, oxidative stress and inflammatory factors.
