Effects of Tongqiao Huoxue decoction combined with probiotics on cognitive function and intestinal microbiota in patients with severe cerebral hemorrhage
Objective To explore the effects of Tongqiao Huoxue decoction combined with probiotics on cognitive func-tion and intestinal microbiota in patients with severe cerebral hemorrhage(CH),providing a reference for the treatment.Methods From January 2020 to January 2023,90 patients who underwent severe CH treatment in our hospital were ran-domly separated into an observation group(45 cases)and a control group(45 cases).The control group was treated with a conventional regimen and probiotics.The observation group was given Tongqiao Huoxue decoction based on the control group's treatment.The cognitive function,intestinal microbiota,inflammatory factor indicators and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,both the observation group and control group showed an in-crease in the scores of MMSE and MoCA,while the increases in the control group were not as significant as those in the observation group(all P＜0.05);the levels of Enterococcus and Escherichia coli in both groups decreased,while that of Bi-fidobacterium increased,and the changes in the control group were not as significant as those in the observation group(all P＜0.05);the values of interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)decreased in both groups,and the observation group showed a more significant decrease than the control group(all P＜0.05);the total clinical effective rate of the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group(95.56％vs 77.78％,P＜0.05).Conclusion Tongqiao Huoxue decoction combined with probiotics can effectively im-prove cognitive function and intestinal microbiota in patients with severe cerebral hemorrhage.
