Regulatory effects of Roseburia with potential of new generation of probiotics in various diseases:advances in research
There is an inseparable mutualistic relationship between intestinal microbiota and host, and abnormal microbi-ota is closely related to the occurrence and development of diseases.Recently, researches at home and abroad found a Gram-positive anaerobe bacteria,Roseburia, the bacterium produces short chain fatty acids(especially butyrate)which are beneficial to human body.Roseburia can affect the metabolisms of the host, promote intestinal barrier and regulate the composition of intestinal microbiota, therefore possess a good prospect for development and application, and is expected to become a next generation of probiotics. However, the perspective of the research on Roseburia is still limited to the abund-ance of the Roseburia and its output of short-chain fatty acids, and the effect of Roseburia itself on human body health has not been paid attention to.This paper summarizes the role of Roseburia in various diseases of human body, and provides reference for further systematic research and development of Roseburia.
